My Childhood Days

Getting up late, being irrational at times, mood swings, cravings for chocolates, crush of my first school teacher, telling lies, bunking classes, being punished outside class & when mathematics numerals seemed some kind of unearthly creatures....... and many more memories to remember and relish for a lifetime. Life was a roller- coaster when there were no responsibilities and commitments to fulfill. And honestly, childhood days are the best days in one's life when you make wonderful friends that remain for a lifetime.

Recalling my childhood still brings smiles and at the same time tears in my eyes as I can never get them back again. Mom's scolding for being back on time and teachers punishment for being late for every class.

Watching little kids playing in the park, and seeing how careless and unconcerned they are about the various worries of life reminds me of my childhood days. Life was full of dreams and most importantly all dreams seemed realizable. Reminiscing my old memories makes me recall a funny incident when I lit crackers on the cow’s dung and when it busted with its ‘bang’; I was all dirty from head to toe. Mom was so very upset and I was praying her to forgive me for my deed.

Eyes were filled with mischief and every moment was fun; when love meant mom’s pampering and fear meant dads scolding; when stars were approachable and sky was the limit--- those were my most unforgettable childhood days. Today I have grown up into a young girl, dreams are still realizable but with a pinch of salt in it, as I know you can’t expect them to be rewarded everytime in life.
